Core freight services

Hazmat Trucking

Full truckload (FTL) transportation of hazardous materials under DOT and FMCSA authority. We handle commodities across multiple hazmat classes including flammable liquids (Class 3), flammable gases (Class 2.1), corrosives (Class 8), and other regulated materials. Every shipment moves with proper placarding and documentation per 49 CFR.

Box-Truck Freight

Flexible box-truck transportation for general freight, partial loads, and non-hazmat shipments. Ideal for regional and long-haul lanes that don’t require a full tractor-trailer.

Nationwide Coverage

Freight service across all 48 contiguous states, dispatched from the Houston, TX metro. We coordinate pickup, routing, and drop-off to keep your supply chain on schedule.

Hazmat classes we transport

Our drivers and equipment are authorized to haul the following DOT hazmat classifications. Contact us to confirm lane availability and any commodity-specific requirements.

Class 2: Gases

Flammable gases (2.1), non-flammable/non-toxic gases (2.2), and toxic gases (2.3). Commodities include butane, petroleum products, and crude oil.

Class 3: Flammable Liquids

Fuels, solvents, and other flammable liquids transported under strict temperature and containment protocols.

Class 8: Corrosives

Acids, batteries, and corrosive substances requiring specialized handling and segregation.

All Additional Classes

Class 1 (Explosives), Class 4 (Flammable Solids), Class 5 (Oxidizers & Organic Peroxides), Class 6 (Toxic & Infectious Substances), Class 7 (Radioactive Materials), and Class 9 (Miscellaneous). We are authorized to haul all nine DOT hazmat classifications. Contact us to confirm specific commodity and lane requirements.

Equipment

Our fleet is maintained to DOT standards with current inspections, proper placarding materials, and safety equipment on every unit.

Hazmat Tractor-Trailers

10 Class-A tractors paired with 10 bulk tankers and 1 plated dry van, all maintained to DOT standards with current inspections, proper placarding materials, and onboard emergency response equipment.

Box Trucks

One 26-ft hazmat-certified box truck, rated and equipped for regulated commodity transport. Ideal for loads requiring box-truck flexibility without sacrificing hazmat compliance.

Driver qualifications & compliance

Every DG Express driver meets or exceeds FMCSA hazmat requirements.

CDL-A with H & N Endorsements

All hazmat drivers hold a valid CDL Class A license with active Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements, or the combined X endorsement, as required by 49 CFR 383.

TSA Threat Assessment Cleared

Every hazmat-endorsed driver has completed the TSA Hazardous Materials Endorsement Threat Assessment Program, a federal requirement for transporting placarded loads.

FMCSA Hazmat Training

Drivers complete all required training per 49 CFR 172 Subpart H: general awareness, function-specific, safety, and security awareness training, with recertification on schedule.

Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections

Documented vehicle inspections before and after every trip per FMCSA requirements, including hazmat-specific checks on placards, containment, and emergency equipment.

Safety & security

Written Hazmat Security Plan

DG Express maintains a written security plan per 49 CFR 172 Subpart I covering unauthorized access prevention, en-route security procedures, and personnel security measures.

Emergency Response Documentation

Every hazmat shipment travels with the required emergency response information, and drivers are trained in spill containment and incident response procedures.

Insurance & Liability Coverage

$5 million in commercial auto liability and $5 million in general liability coverage. Carrier-grade protection that meets and exceeds FMCSA hazmat requirements.

Operational Details

  • Dispatch & Response: Our Houston-metro dispatch center operates during business hours with on-call support for urgent shipments. Quote responses typically within 24 hours.
  • Hazmat Workflows: Shippers should provide proper shipping names, UN numbers, hazmat class, and packing group. We verify shipper prep and ensure all placarding, papers, and emergency response info are on board before departure.
  • Load Minimums: Full truckload (FTL) minimums apply. Partial loads coordinated on lane availability. Ask about recurring vs. spot-market pricing.
  • Pickup & Detention: Standard industry wait-time policies apply. Discuss specific site access, loading timelines, and any equipment requirements (fittings, connections, temp control) upfront.
  • Rate Structure: Pricing based on commodity, distance, equipment type, and lane. Fuel surcharges applied per industry standards. Direct questions to our dispatch team.
